Nope…. I miss many posts. It happens to all. I’ve got no idea how many am I missing! But to my surprise few fellow bloggers post wouldn’t even appear in my readers list. Don’t know how could it happen even though I am following them..
I think you need to check every few hours to catch up all post from fellow bloggers.

I strive to go down the reader once a day for an hour or so. Typically don’t get to it on weekends and some weekdays – try to catch up as beat as I can.

Go to notification tab, then to settings list of blogs you are following check if you have enabled notification for each blog. This way I have managed to read all the blogs am following.

Ah, I’m so glad that you are writing about this. No, I am missing posts. Your site is an example. I am following you, according to my wordpress account, however I never get your posts. I see most of my blogs and others in Reader but to see all of them I click on the blogger actual home page link. Hope this helps and remain safe.

I have the feeling that perhaps one person sees my posts in the reader! It is very demotivating, especially when you see blogs flying by with 176 likes on one post! My stats keep saying: 1 view!
I have about 14 followers now but no likes! Perhaps I confuse WP with FB? Does anyone understand this?
